Quick Start Guide

This guide walks you through creating your first lead-generation funnel from scratch. By the end, you’ll have a working funnel ready to capture leads.

Step 1: Create Your Workspace

After signing up, you’ll land in your workspace — the home base for your agency. From here you can manage funnels, team members, brand profiles, and integrations.

If you’re part of an agency, your workspace is shared across your team. Invite colleagues and assign roles (Admin or Builder) to control who can access billing and workspace settings.

Step 2: Create a New Funnel

Click the “New Funnel” button on the dashboard. Smashleads instantly creates an empty funnel and opens the builder. No name dialogs, no friction — just start building.

Step 3: Add Blocks to Your Funnel

The block palette on the left side of the builder lists all 34 block types organized by category:

Content Blocks

Use Text, Image, Video, and Header blocks to present your offer. Text blocks use a rich text editor with formatting, links, and custom styling.

Interactive Blocks

Add Multiple Choice, Form, Dropdown, Date, and Upload blocks to collect information from leads. Each interactive block supports:

  • Variable assignment — Map answers to named variables for tracking and branching
  • Validation rules — Required fields, email format, phone numbers, min/max values
  • Custom styling — Design variants, brand colors, button customization

Layout Blocks

Use Flex and Grid containers to arrange blocks in multi-column layouts. Grid supports preset templates (2-column, 3-column, sidebar + main, etc.) with visual area assignment.

Step 4: Configure Your Pages and Logic

Most funnels have multiple pages. Click the “Add Page” button to create additional steps. Then use the Logic tab in the builder to set up conditional flows:

  • Simple linear flow — Pages advance in order (default)
  • Conditional branching — Route users based on their answers (e.g., budget > $10k goes to premium path)
  • Score-based routing — Assign point values to choices, then route based on total score

Step 5: Set Up Tracking

Navigate to the Integrations section in your funnel settings to connect your tracking stack:

  1. Google Tag Manager — Paste your GTM container ID. Smashleads pushes events to the dataLayer automatically.
  2. Meta Pixel — Enter your Pixel ID for standard and custom conversion events.
  3. Hyros — Connect your Hyros tracking for variable-to-event mapping that enables lead-quality optimization.

Step 6: Customize Your Brand

Before publishing, apply your brand profile:

  1. Go to Workspace Settings → Brand Profiles
  2. Create a profile with your colors, fonts, and logo
  3. In the builder, select your brand profile from the theme dropdown

All blocks with named variants automatically adopt your brand colors. Custom variants give you full control over individual element styling.

Step 7: Publish Your Funnel

When you’re ready, click the Publish button in the builder header. Smashleads creates an immutable version snapshot — your live funnel is frozen in time while you continue editing the draft.

Distribution Options

After publishing, you get four embed options:

  • Direct link — Share the URL directly
  • Iframe — Embed in any webpage
  • Web Component — Drop a custom element into your site
  • QR Code — Print-ready code for offline campaigns
